Are There Any Zombies in China, as Reflected in Popular Culture or Urban Legends

Hey folks, I've been curious lately about the whole zombie thing. You know, with all the movies and shows out there, it seems like zombies are a big deal in American pop culture. But I'm wondering, do we have any zombie stuff going on over in China? Like, are there any zombie movies, TV shows, or urban legends? I'd love to hear from someone who knows about this stuff. Any zombie enthusiasts out there in China? 🧟‍♂️🇨🇳🤔 #ZombieCulture #AskTheCommunity

In China, zombies are often described as reanimated corpses that wander the world because their souls cannot rest in peace. According to legend, zombies have greenish-white skin, are stiff and slow-moving, and are often referred to as “jumping corpses”.The image of the zombie is not only passed down in folk tales, but also appears frequently in modern movies and TV shows, and has become a symbol of horror and mystery.

For example, in Yuan Mei's novel “Zi Bu Shi”, the characteristics of zombies are depicted in detail, which has become an important reference for its image in later generations. In the novel, “white zombies, green zombies, purple zombies and hairy zombies” are mentioned, showing the diversity of zombie images. Especially in Hong Kong zombie movies, the zombies often wear official clothes of the Qing Dynasty, reflecting their status and position in life.
