Hey folks, I'm curious to know! I've been hearing the word 'Chino' thrown around a lot, but I'm not quite sure what it means. Is it a slang term? A brand? Or something else entirely? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! 😊👍
Spaniards used to call “Chinese” “chino” and “Chinese stores” “chino”. Chinese shops are also called “chino”. The Mayor of Barcelona, Ms. Crowe, has always advocated for fair treatment of immigrants, and in 2019 she is calling on citizens to stop calling “Chinese” “Chino”.
