华人网 2024-10-16 23:27

According to the National Immigration Administration of China, starting from January 11, the administration officially implemented five measures to facilitate the visit of foreign personnel to China. These measures aim to further remove barriers for foreign individuals engaging in business, studying, and tourism in China, enhancing services to support high-level opening-up and promoting high-quality development.

Required documents for Chinese visa:

▪ Original passport. (Passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least 2 blank visa pages).
A copy of the personal information page of the passport.

A copy of the personal information page of the passport. ■ China Visa Application Form.
A copy of the applicant's most recent Chinese visa or Chinese residence permit.

A copy of the applicant's address in the U.S. (e.g., driver's license, utility bill, bank statement, etc.).

▪ If the applicant is a citizen of a third country in the U.S., a copy of proof of legal stay or residence in the U.S. (e.g., green card, visa, I20, I94 form, etc.).

▪ If the applicant had Chinese citizenship and this application is the first Chinese visa application after joining a foreign country, please provide the original of the original Chinese passport and two copies of the personal information page and one copy of the naturalization paper.

▪ If the applicant's name has been changed and this is the first application for a visa to China after the name change, a copy of the name change document must be submitted.

▪ Visa applications for children of Chinese ancestry born in the United States.

There are a number of favorable policies in place for applying for Chinese visas in the United States:

A few good news about applying for a Chinese visa in the United States:

▪ To further facilitate foreigners' travel to China, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the U.S. have implemented since October 23, 2023 appointment-free visa applications.

After completing the Chinese Visa Online Application System (COVA), visa applicants can submit their applications with their visa application materials at the Embassy or Consulate's Documentation Hall without having to make an online appointment.

In order to further facilitate the exchanges between the U.S. and China, starting from January 1, 2024, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the U.S. will reduce or waive the L-word (Tourist) visa application materials: U.S. residents who travel to China for tourism can apply for a visa to China without providing round-trip air tickets, hotel orders, itineraries, or invitations, and other application materials.

Please refer to the requirements of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the U.S. for details.

■ In order to further promote the exchange of people between China and foreign countries, and to serve high-quality development and high-level opening up to the outside world, China has decided to expand the scope of unilateral visa-free countries on a trial basis, and to implement the unilateral visa-free policy for holders of ordinary passports from six countries, namely, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia, on a trial basis.

During the period from December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024, holders of ordinary passports from the above countries who come to China for doing business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends, and transiting for not more than 15 days, may enter China visa-free. Persons from the above countries who are not eligible for visa-free access are still required to obtain visas for China before entering the country.
China Visa Application Process

(1) Applicants should log in the “China Visa Online Form (COVA)” and fill in the visa application form online.

(2) The applicant or his/her representative shall submit the application materials on site during the public office hours of the Documentation Hall.

If the form is not filled out properly or the documents do not meet the requirements, the visa application may be returned to the applicant on-site and the applicant has to fill in the form again.

(d) On-site pick-up and payment of fees: When picking up the documents, please check the visa information carefully and inform the staff on-site if there is any problem, so as to prevent the incorrect information from affecting the use of the visa in immigration.
