在社交或商业场合中，如何正确问候并称呼面前的人十分重要。合适的问候和称呼可以展示出您对对方立场的尊重，避免冒犯对方。

When you meet someone new, under social or business circumstances, it’s important to know how to greet &address the individual standing in front of you. Properly greeting &addressing people in different situations shows you’re respectful of their position and mindful of not offending them in any way.

1. 正式问候

对于英语中正式问候，可以使用以下两种种代表性语句。正式场合中，必须保持语句的完整。

For formal greeting in English, I am representing you 2 sentence patterns that you may use. Beware, you need to use complete sentences in formal occasions.

不了解对方姓氏

Unfamiliar last name

如果我们不知道该如何称呼对方，无论对方年龄多大，我们都应该用正式的称呼：Sir或Madam。

In case we are not sure how to address the person we should formally address him/her with Sir or Madam no matter what age they are.

如下：

-很高兴见到你，Sir！

-很高兴见到你，Madam！

了解对方姓氏

Familiar last name

了解对方的姓氏，应称呼对方的姓和头衔：

Unless told otherwise, when you know, use the person’s last name along with the title when you meet them:

Mr(“Mister”) + 姓（任何男性）

Mr(“Mister”) + last name (any man) 

Mrs(“Misis”) + 姓（已婚，使用夫姓的女性）

Mrs(“Misis”) + last name (married woman who uses her husband’s last name)

Miss(“Miss”) + 姓（未婚女性）

Miss(“Miss”) + last name (unmarried woman)

Ms (“Mizz”) + 姓（已婚或未婚女性；在商务场合非常常见）

Ms(“Mizz”) + last name (married or unmarried woman; very common in business) 

如下：

-Mr.Smith, 您今天会参加会议吗？

-Ms.Hudson，我会参加，谢谢您的关心。

如果对方感觉称呼过于正式，他们会直接告诉您。如果你不知道如何称呼对方，先使用正式的称呼，然后问他们是否喜欢其他的称呼。

If the person you’readdressing feels this is too formal, they will let you know. In case you aren’t sure how to address someone, useformal address first and then ask them if they prefer something else.

如下：

-您可以直接叫我Jane，我能称呼您为Jack吗？

-当然可以，Jane！

专业头衔

Professional titles

如果是称呼一个有特定职业的人，请记住他们的头衔通常与他们的职业有关。

If you are addressing someone with specific profession, keep in mind that their titles are related to their profession.

Dr（医生）+ 姓氏（有一些医生使用Dr.+名）- 医学上或学术上

Dr (“Doctor”)+ last name (some doctors go by Dr+ first name) – medical or academic

Professor + 姓氏

Professor+ last name 

如下：

-Dr.Pitt, 我的检查结果出来了吗？

-已经出来了，Ms.Hudson。

贵族头衔

Nobility titles

如果您有幸与国王或王后会面，你应该使用以下称呼:Your Majesty

In case you have the honor to meet with king or queenyou should use the following titles: Your Majesty

如下：

- Your Majesty（陛下），见到您是我的荣幸！

如果您与贵族会面，您应遵循以下规则：

In case you have the honor to meet with someone who has nobility titles. The rules are as following: 

男士=Lord + 姓

To a man, you need to say "Lord+family name"

女士=Lady + 姓

To a woman, you need to say "Lady+family name"

只有称呼主教才会使用“My Lord”

“My Lord” is only for bishops 

官员头衔

Official titles

政府的官员，需要直接称呼他们的头衔。

For government officials, you need to address them with their official titles.

只称呼官衔，例如“President”, “Deputy”, “Minister”等等

Only address the officials with “President”, “Deputy”, “Minister”..etc.

大使需要称呼为“Ambassador”或 “Your Excellency”

For ambassadors, you should address them with  “ambassador”, or “Your Excellency”

不可以使用Mister President,或者 President + 姓名, 或者 Mister President + 姓名

"Mister President", or "President + name", or "Mister President + name" is not proper.

非正式问候&称呼

Informal greeting & addressing

问候朋友、亲密的同事、家庭成员和任何与我们亲近的人，都可以使用非正式的问候和称呼方式。

We may informally greet our friends, close colleagues, familymembers and anyone else with who we are close with.

亲密或随意的关系中，需要进行非正式的称呼。

Close or casual relationship requires an informal formof address:

名

Firstname

Miss/ Mr+名

Miss/Mr + first name

如下：

-Jessica，可以跟我一起吃午餐吗？

-当然可以！
